Separate Realities arose out of a collaboration with soprano Stacey Geyer. The piece is inspired by the spiritual visions of five different figures throughout history, using either their own, or texts related to a seer’s life. The title is taken from Carlos Castaneda’s book describing the teachings of Yaqui shaman Don Juan Matus.
