Matthew began playing piano at the age of six, and it still remains a large part of his life; since then he has also picked up guitar, trumpet, and other instruments with varying degrees of proficiency. His compositional style is constantly evolving as he matures and learns, but he has recently been making his first forays into the world of microtonality and electronic music. Some other interests include fishing, collecting old books, and language study.
