Short Bio
Alex Buehler graduated from Colorado State University with Bachelor's of Music Education and Bachelor's of Music Composition degrees. He studied trombone with Greg Harper, principal bass trombonist of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, and composition with Dr. James David at CSU. Currently, Alex is pursuing a Master's of Arts in Music Composition Degree at the University of North Texas where he has studied trombone with Daniel Hinman, Composition with Dr. Kirsten Broberg and Dr. Joseph Klein, and electronic music with Dr. Jon Nelson.
Alex has had his works performed by the Colorado State University Percussion Ensemble, Colorado State University Concert Band, Webber Middle School, The Ralston Valley High School Jazz Band and Chamber Orchestra, Instructor of Harp at Colorado State University Rachel Ellins, the NewEar Ensemble in Kansas City, MO, Chicago-based Violist Michael Hall, several soloist and chamber ensembles at the University of North Texas, and the UNT Lab Bands. He was invited to premiere his work for flute and electronics at the 2017 Electric LaTex Music Festival hosted by Experimental Music & Digital Music at Louisiana State University and was invited to participate in the 2018 Shastra Summer Music Intensive and 2018 Charlotte New Music Festival Max/MSP Workshop where he studied with Dr. Charles Nichols and Dr. Ronald Parks.
