SEAMUS CREATE Grants are open to performers, ensembles, composers, creators, or arts organizations that are current members of SEAMUS. The grants are designed to support electroacoustic programming, educational experiences, community related creative projects, electro-acoustic concerts, and events that foster creative and social practices within the electro-acoustic community.
Up to $1,000 will be split between up to four (4) applicants. Awards will range from $100-1,000. Awardees will also be featured on the SEAMUS website, social media platforms, at a SEAMUS event, and in the SEAMUS journal.
Projects may vary and we encourage applicants to be as creative as they wish in their proposals. Successful proposals will describe an experience, event, project, or product that can be shared with the SEAMUS community and others.
While the funds may be used to support individual creative and/or research projects, proposals that draw participation from other SEAMUS members will be favored. We especially encourage proposals that merge the expertise and energies of our membership with community engaged work and outreach. Such projects might design educational/experiential/maker opportunities for people in your local community. In general, we will favor proposals that are in some sense community-building, and/or that evolve and extend our community’s practices.
