The Society for ElectroAcoustic Music in the United States (SEAMUS) 2025 National Conference will be held at at Purdue University’s Department of Music in West Lafayette, Indiana from March 21 – March 23, 2025. SEAMUS 2025 will showcase a broad spectrum of electroacoustic modes and practices. We will present a selection of concert works, installations, paper presentations, demonstrations, and workshops.

Registration is required for all participants, except for attendees who are only attending as performers.
Conference information will be disseminated through the SEAMUS listserv, SEAMUS website, and through the conference webpage, including travel and lodging information.
The submission portal will open on October 2 and close November 6, 2024 at 11:59pm Eastern.

SUBMISSIONS
Submitters to the conference must have an active SEAMUS membership to submit their work. SEAMUS members may submit one work in each of the following categories, Creative Works and Papers/Demos/Workshops.
Currently enrolled students of all levels are also invited to submit works for consideration for the SEAMUS Student Award Competition. Works must be submitted separately to the conference and to the competition.
Creative Works
Creative works include fixed media compositions for up to 8 channels, audiovisual works for up to 8 channels of audio, works for performers with live and/or fixed electronic elements, and installations.
In addition to general creative works, the Ahn Trio Ensemble (piano and cello) will be accepting submissions for either solo or duo performance. Additional conference performers will be announced shortly.
Presentations/Workshops
Paper presentations and demos relevant to the field of electroacoustic music may be proposed by individuals or groups. Paper presentations will be 25 minutes with 5 minutes for questions.
Workshops on topics relevant to the field of electro-acoustic music may be proposed by individuals and groups.
SEAMUS adjudication is conducted through a double-blind peer-review and is designed to ensure anonymity and a lack of bias toward any particular composer or piece. However, the conference host will consider technical and logistical feasibility as they program pieces based on their unique abilities to program particular pieces.
